What Happened to Lil Tjay?
On June 22, 2022, a significant incident occurred involving Lil Tjay and his friend Antonio Boyd. They were both shot during a robbery attempt in Edgewater, New Jersey. Lil Tjay sustained seven gunshot wounds, and Antonio was shot once. The shooter, identified as Mohammed Konate, also got injured but managed to escape with an unknown accomplice.
Law enforcement swiftly apprehended Mohammed Konate for shooting Lil Tjay, charging him with attempted murder, armed robbery, and weapons offences. Lil Tjay’s friends, Jeffery Valdez and Antoine Boyd, faced weapon possession charges but were later released. Importantly, Lil Tjay himself was not charged with any crimes.
