Lil Tjay recently released a fresh track and music video titled “Beat the Odds.” The video features scenes shot in the hospital while the rapper was recovering from being shot multiple times.

In the song, Lil Tjay conveys a blend of emotions, combining sadness with hope and showcasing his resilience. He shares his experiences through lyrics like, “Melodic blue stories, I’m feeling like Baby Keem/I do my own thing, fuck it, I took seven shots, no shame/Back to the wall, I’m still gonna blow you down, I ain’t no stain.” The video predominantly unfolds in the hospital, capturing Lil Tjay’s recovery, interactions with friends and family, and even setting up a makeshift recording studio in his room.

“Beat the Odds” debuts just 48 hours after Lil Tjay updated fans about his health on Instagram. In a brief video, he disclosed that he had been shot seven times during a robbery attempt in June. Wearing a neck brace, Lil Tjay expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and love. Despite facing adversity, he reassured fans of upcoming music, declaring, “We’re gonna come back stronger than ever.”

Following the incident in Edgewater, New Jersey, Lil Tjay reportedly underwent surgery and briefly faced critical condition. A 27-year-old man named Mohamed Konate was subsequently arrested on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, and weapons offences. Lil Tjay wrapped up his video by extending thanks to everyone for their love and support.

Lil Tjay Speaks Out After Surviving Seven Gunshot Wounds

Lil Tjay is finally sharing his thoughts after the frightening incident in June when he was shot during a robbery. On Wednesday (Aug. 24), he posted a video on Instagram, marking his first appearance since the incident. In the video, he wore a medical neck brace but appeared in good spirits.

“Hey, what’s going on, y’all?” Lil Tjay expressed in the video. “It’s your boy, Tjay, man. I’m just checking in with you all. I want to say thanks for the love and support. I’ve been looking at the D.M.s, comments, and everything else, and I feel love. Seven shots, it was tough, you know. Most people don’t survive it. But I’m here, here for a reason. New music is coming soon. We’re going to come back stronger than ever, man.”

Lil Tjay is recovering from the incident in Edgewater, N.J., on June 22. He was shot multiple times during an attempted robbery, and 27-year-old Mohamed Konate has been charged in connection with the shooting. The incident occurred while Tjay and his friends Jeffery Valdez and Antoine Boyd were in a car at The Promenade, an upscale shopping centre. Gunfire was exchanged, Tjay and Boyd were hit, and Konate was also hit and later arrested at a hospital.

Konate is facing charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, and various other weapons offences. Boyd and Valdez were also arrested for firearms violations.

Following the shooting, Lil Tjay underwent emergency surgery and was unconscious for some time. On June 30, it was reported that he was awake and talking in the hospital. Notably, billboards have recently appeared around New York City with the quote “I’m Back,” attributed to Lil Tjay.
